Friday the 13th proved to be unlucky for an armed robber who tried to rob a coin shop in San Diego. Chalk this one up to the good guys:

Police: Robber killed by coin shop workers in SD

After two armed robbers threatened the coin shop owner and employee the intended victims pulled their own guns and a shootout ensued. One robber was struck twice and died shortly after the shootout. His accomplice fled the scene. The coin shop owner and employee were not injured.

Not to be a hardened citizen of any sort, but the more criminals who get an instant case of lead poisoning the better. A 230 grain lead injection at 900 FPS sounds like a deterent to me:thumb:

Let that be a lesson to all would be theives. Every single employee at my favorite coin shop carries a gun. Amen to the right to defend ourselves against those that would do us harm.

OT but similar. Several years ago some moron tried an armed robbery at a local GUN SHOP where all six employees were fully armed.

    He didn't survive.

LOL...I agree and if implemented through out our fine Country we would not have the problems we have today!
I have always felt that "lead poisoning" was the best and cheapest form of justice!
So you see folks...the Marine Corps did a great job training me...even after all these years the itch on the trigger finger is still there!
Dirty Harry was one of my all time favorites!!

Heaven help the poor fool who tries to rob the local shop I frequent. I know everyone there is armed as are most of the frequent customers. It would turn into a leadfest in a hurry.

As for the OP. One less thief scumbag to cater to with our tax dollars.

I have mixed feelings on this because of where I work.
Am I glad the would be robber got it? No doubt.

We have firearms readily avaiable at the shop I work in. I certainly hope it would never come down to this because of our location. We are on a corner right downtown and have a lot of windows.
I'd hate to see a stray bullet catch an innocent bystander OUTSIDE of the store (or INSIDE) of course.

For those that have ever complained about having to be buzzed into a shop this is a good example of why. My boss also has another store which is generally run by one person. You have to be buzzed into that store and yes, he's armed.

If you are not allowed the right to defend yourself, your family, and your property, any other rights mean nothing. As the bumper sticker says: When guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns.

The shop I go to is in a pretty bad part of town and you also have to be buzzed in.

We buzz people in here.... not so bad of an area... but its just a good idea.

I have only had to pull my sidearm once... I had a shoplifter on video... and he came back the next morning (i know huh?) When I confronted him about it he decided to stick his hand in his pocket and dig around in a manor I was not at all comfortable with... needless to say I hope I never have to do that again.

    right you are. Get ready.
I expect a lot more stories like this from now on. I just hope the deserving get the lead.

And you know what I noticed. A lot of coin shops are right next door to gun shops. And a lot of coin guys are gun guys.

And thats a cool bumper sticker mentioned above. I got my signature from a bumper sticker I saw.
