Well actually 59 bids were placed.... on what???? Oh yeah just an 1921 Canadian 5 cent silver in Vf. Details .
Keg words" DETAILS"...."melting pot"....words like "less than"..... ah no...
Just another numismatic key coin....thats history caused as an 2,582,495 mintage dwindled to less than 600 ,as the need for a larger 5 cent coin was needed ,that would last a long time, minted in a medal composition that would wear ,and wouldn't be hoarded by the population.
So how many of you were aware of the 1921 Canadian 5 cent silver detailed bringing such a tiddy sum?
This is just another brick in my write up,in next month, Error scope magazine.

Another prime example of a detailed coin brining moon money!

So I will be good when I get a bit older. The only problem is, all my pills are the same color. Mostly just different shapes.
I have accidentally messed up my ADHD meds with my sleep meds once. Spent all day trying to keep my eyes open. No bueno.

Buddy of mine in KC actually found one of these in a group a customer brought into the shop. Got a small finder's fee for his honesty, ended up going for $10,200 at auction as an NGC AU53.

I appreciate the data to this thread. As it does fall in line with the article I was asked to write.
It's sort of food for thought about you, your collection, and choices we sometimes make.

With an estimated 300 surviving it an interesting coin. I think there are coins I would rather buy for the money but as a hole filer this is fine

Looks like its an ultra rare coin. But personally I wouldn't spend that much.

That's about half of all the money I'm holding. (not counting my collection)

It's one of the more famous Canadian rarities, so I'm not all that surprised. Imagine the auction price for a comparable US rarity.

I think of the 1894-S "Ice Cream Dime", for example, which is an impaired proof worn down to G4. But I guess that's not the greatest comparison, since the original mintage on the US 1894-S proof dime was only 24 pieces.

Those famous rarities will always demand moon money, even for the lesser examples that have "issues". Supply and demand, y'know.

Low supply + high demand = moon money.

    Even for "problem" coins.

This morning I've found another....on ebay at present 1921 PCGS Ef.~40 currently valued at $8591.40 U.S. $11,000 CAD

Now this specimen was in a slab and graded. Unlike the items talked about pryor were detail coins ....what this does give us is a clearer path... somewhat to an actual value. ....it gives what I call a target price ,a arrange of a few known prices paid , then round up or down to the price point that makes sense.

Now what makes sence is also what circumstances brings you to this purchase?
Do you happen to "know a guy" who perhasp has to sell at a loss,or just needs cash due to something unforseen.

To my liking I like to weight it all out, as all of us are going to find the answer, its the one that works for you.
