The Lincoln Silver Dollar was my first time ordering something many would describe as a "hot" new item, while I know that many of you do this quite frequently. From the threads/posts that can be read here concerning numbers purchased and time delays on the web and telephone, do you think the mint sold a lot of these, or just about an average day for this type of initial issue? I realize this would be just speculation, but like I said many have a lot of experience ordering from the mint. Any thoughts/comments appreciated.
I dont know how much the "supply" was but the "demand" is huge! I think Obama might be another reason these are selling so much.
mint business ??? aLL: I ordered my lincoln proof and UNC yesterday through the Mint web site. It did not seem to be busy as my ordeer was processed very quickly. I am sure that it will do well because of Licoln status in aMerican History. I also agree that Obama election and being te firstAfricianAmerican may also contribute to the coins sales. Any way, I hope it sells out fast so that I can sell some of my extras!! G.E.
Yes that was something I did notice that a lot of people did buy extras to sell. I foresee when the mint is sold out (I do think they will sell out) ebay will be flooded with these for six months or so, but I do wish all of you good selling with those extras.
I am one of the people who bought extras. My first time buying more than one of anything from the mint. 2 Unc. and 2 proof. hya:
My order has a ship date of 2/19 for both the proof and uncirculated. Noticed at lunch today that new orders for the proof now have an estimated ship date of 04/01 and the unc is still at 2/19.
I ordered one ea and the time frame to place my order was nothing compared to former Comms I've waited on.
