Hey everyone!!! This is my 1st post and I'm new to collecting notes. Came across this a few days ago. The back of the note is faded severly and its a brand new note 2006s B73791163k.Wanted to know if it did have any value to it. I also have 5 additional notes before this number and you can see how the press was running low on ink. I'll post another pic with all the notes in order.
heres all of them that i found.... pretty neat!!! that last note was the last one i picked up where the full color came back to the sheets i guess all ser # are in order
TY!! Do you know if it has any kind of value other then a buck!!!!!!!:goofer:... when i found them in the whole stack of 100 $1 notes i also pulled out 18 star notes in ser # order as well....
Fascinating...it sounds like the BEP people removed many of these notes like yours to be destroyed but missed the notes that you found, rather unusual.
Well DollaBillYall.... Looks like it was your lucky day! I have been studying underinking errors of late and what you have is indeed pretty special! First thing I would do is buy some Mylar Sleeves for these "Dolla Bills" and not handle them except to put them in the Mylar. Next, I would find a local dealer who will submit these for you to a third Party Grading Company like PCGS, PMG or CGC for validation and grade assignment! Then I would contact a major Auction House Like Heritage Auctions or David Lawerence Rare Coins and consign the notes if that is indeed what you want to do. Next, I would keep the 2 notes with the greatest amount of ink error on them for many years to come as this will only grow in value as the note ages. I have seen similiar notes like the one attached here sell from $80- $100 each! if you want to consider selling one, let me know. By the Way...Welcome and I love the Song "DollaBill Yall", was'nt that done by Whitey Ford?? RickieB
These are $1's so they just have the traditional serial numbering system. They are 2006 B-K block. I guess that you oversaw this in the first post due to your excitement in seeing these notes.
LOL.... NOS you called that dead on...LOL At the time I was actually looking at $5 inking error and used that SN example...LOL Makes me feel like a @$@#$%^%&^^ RickieB
Well like i said im new at this ... So my next question is what would the third party grading company do for me and what would contacting the auction house do?.... lol
How would I go about getting some notes consigned??? Would be the first time i ever did that and don't know what the heck to do...lol
welcome to the forum!:hatch: very nice group, i see three in the group that would bring at least $150.00 each at auction & would be $200.00 each on a retail situation (currency show/website/fixed pricelist). the others are difficult to see just how much ink is missing and that will affect the price on an individual basis. having them certified will help novice buyers with the "fake error" aspect & if they grade particularly high (gem 67,68+) they MAY render a higher final price at auction from experienced buyers who want higher graded notes. going to an auction house, such as Heritage or Lyn Knight, will expose your notes to a focused audience of people looking for JUST THAT TYPE of item. i hope this answers some of your questions. i am not on too frequently, but if you have other questions, feel free to contact me.
