Hi all. So, I found this Cent that is missing the letter "L" in the word "Liberty" on the obverse. I never saw this on a coin before and it was cool to come across it. Also, the letter "I" in the word "In" at the top of the obverse is not strongly stamped and is partially missing. Is this coin worth anything more than one cent? If so, how much? And if so, what should I do with it now? Once I found this coin I started checking others and found interesting oddities (hence this coin is numbered "1" but none as cool as this one. Please forgive the peanut butter jar I was using to lay my camera upon while taking pictures. For those with nut allergies - it was an unopened jar.

Hi, and no extra value. It is called die deterioration doubling and an indication the die was used way over it should have been replaced. The die metal spreads after large numbers of striking , and as the die spreads the outerparts can approach the rim and go up it or in extreme disappear. Jim
Thank you Jim! And here I thought I had won the lottery! It's still very cool and I will keep it because it's a full missing letter. I remember reading about a quarter that had a whole bunch of them saying "In God We Rust". That's funny! This penny isn't that funny, but it's still cool in my opinion.
