    Hello,
    Hope everyone is well.
I was wondering if you could tell me if it just damage or a RPM.
Also does the six in the date look funny or have i just been looking at coins for to long.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

First, welcome to the neighborhood, Diane!

The "6" appears to have taken a slight "hit" while in circulation.

As for the mintmark, all of those parallel striations that you see pointing toward the rim are indicative of die deterioration. It's quite common. ~Chris

Hello. Welcome to the "Coin Talk ". What you have is MD or Mechanical doubling = Worthless Doubling.

Make sure to check for die scratches on the obverse .

Rick, ordinarily I respect your opinions, but in this case, I don't see how you can attribute this beat-up, scratched-up nickel based on die scratches that I can't even see "amid the rubble" as well as a mintmark that displays die deterioration along its western edge.

Would you mind pointing out the markers that I cannot see? TIA ~Chris

Your mint mark is a result of MD, The date is a result of what is called a bar nickel. But with just one device being affected it's only worth maybe 10-15 cents. A premium bar nickel would have at least 4 devices connecting to the rim.At that would only be around $1.
