here are a few auction results for bank rolls. http://cgi.ebay.com/2002-D-TENNESSE...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:13|39:1|240:1318 http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-D-Wisconsi...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:13|39:1|240:1318 http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-D-GEORGIA-...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:13|39:1|240:1318 These are representative prices for these states. Most other states have not popped up like this yet.
 thats... crazy. sigh... i do this when i think of how many 1999 silver proof sets i could have bought. :desk:
TN are high because they were a lower mintage and a lot of TN quarters are destined for elvis stickers. Wisconson is high because there are still people out there who think If I search one more roll I'll find those high/low leaves. No idea why the GA is up there other than the fact they are 1999 coins and they are higher because the Mint didn't sell rolls at that time.
Watch for IL with Obama and Lincoln stickers (The Obamas already exist.) I could also see promotions with stickers on the KY, IN, IL, and DC quarters.
Marketing is everything! :rolling: For some reason people think those state quarters are rare! I wonder if I can get that much a roll for my buffalo's?
Scoff if you must but I predict that we will see more and more states pop up. These may not be rare, but promotions are creating big demand. And rolls like the Tennessee have held value for years now.
Maybe if they wreck them all with stickers and whatnot, the average collector can really have something years down the road. (Just the optimist in me)
People have taken these for granted for years. There are almost certain to be some better dates among the more recent ones too. It's easy to say there are millions laid aside and forget there are tens of millions of collectors. It might be most unwise to get caught up in speculating in these if the price goes up but it won't hurt to take a little profit or have fun collecting them. And we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that there remains long term potential in gems, varieties, and errors. There may well be some potential in the proofs if large numbers of newbies discover these and want them.
