Last week my wife put her Jeep into a snowbank and ended up resting on the passenger side. Neither required any repairs, thank heavens. When we picked up the Jeep from being checked at the repair shop, I noticed a collection of coins in the footwell that had shaken loose during the tumble. One caught my eye, being free of verdigris and a nice mellow color: a 1917 in Fine. I think I'll check the bottom of her purse, too.

Now everyone is going to turn their car upside-down and shake it.

And the moral of the story is . . .

Don't let the wife drive the Jeep, unless you collect coins!

Nice find but keep her away from my truck! ;)

Many years back there was a series of stories in Coin World written buy a man who would go out to OLD juckyards and search through the old junked cars searching for old coins that had fallen down into the seats etc years ago. He came up with some nice finds too. And he learned that the old cars were also a favored hiding place for snakes and bees.

    funny story.

When we were tearing out the interior in one of the chevelles, we found so much change. I found a 56 wheat in there. And a hairbrush, spoon, and baby pacifier.
