Ebay still hasn't pulled the auction. 11 hrs and 30 minutes remain and the current bid is $46.00. :headbang:

I said that it was possible that they would pull it. But, they move in their own direction and speed. FWIW, I have seen things come down days after the auction closed.

Sad state of affairs at Ebay , I reported that it was the wrong variety , and the seller must of known this , hopefully they will pull it late like rlm said But I have a feeling Ebay doesn't care who they hurt as long as they get their money .

When we buy on ebay I always pay immediately when the auction ends, how would they handle pulling the listing if payment had already been sent and item was mailed? It seems like even if ebay does something now it's going to be too little too late. :headbang: Oh well, I tried.

I assume that the buyer could send it back. I know that I have seen them pulled up to a couple days after they closed, but I have never been involved directly with one. Right now, I make no guarantees what eBay will do. Today, I actually got a letter apologizing for not pulling the listings I reported when they should have, but I still have others that I reported 6 days ago that they have done nothing about. If you understand all that, maybe you can explain it to me. I have no idea which way their wind is blowing today and tomorrow is even more confusing.

We are having the same problem on CFE, RLM. :( I think the economical situation is why Ebay isn't pulling auctions like they once did. Around Christmas time, Ebay pulled auctions almost as fast as we reported them, then they went back to the way it used to be and maybe worse.

This has definitely opened my eyes to how ebay operates. I feel really lucky that we haven't had problems before this given the slow/no response of ebay in handling this. I really thought because of the size of ebay and the paypal guarantee you were somewhat protected buying off ebay, that has not proved to be the case. :headbang: I've been a CT stalker for some time reading over G's shoulder and I've read several complaints of sellers that their listings were pulled even "before they could get home from work" due to what they described as honest mistakes. This may be jaded, but I'm thinking power seller status affects the way complaints are handled. It really seems like the bigger the seller, the slower the response :rolling: G and I have both been stuck at home lately, he due to his illness and I've had back to back knee surgeries. I'm still not cleared to drive by my Dr., so we've been passing some time (and battling cabin fever) by shopping for and buying coins on the internet. We're going back to the drawing board and seeing what's out there for coin purchases other than ebay. We bought a coin this week from a site Anthony & Bill recommended, we'll see how that goes. :thumb: Hopefully we'll have a better outcome. Thanks for all of your help & support. Now that this is over I'm going to begin work in Excel of a coin inventory database for G. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. :high5:

As Far as ebay goes....I don't like it. Know the seller and buy slabbed if possible. Pictures are too easy to fake. I can take 10 pic's of a coin and post the beast one hiding the flaws or photoshop it.

Not sure what coins you are looking for.... let people know here and they can recommend a website.

    Sorry you aren't feeling well.

These are a couple websites I have dealt with and had no problems with in the past. Unless they get edited.

    Harry.

I haven't bought off of ebay in so long, it must be about a year and a half. I've been working on building up contacts within my area and have a pretty good network going, so it is getting easier for me to find HTF pieces.
