I'm at a 6.0 on the 1885-O. It's a beauty!! But the clean fields and spectacular luster of a Gem 65 and up would have made this a real monster!

That i I s pretty 5.8. Better luster and a gem grade would put it over the top

5.9 I agree if it was dripping with luster I would give it a 6.5 or better.

Ok. Here is one that I've been wanting to send to NGC. I would love to get your opinions on it. The luster is just dripping on it.

Really attractive pastel toning. I like the purple, peach, blue and pale orange colors on both sides. Not a monster, but a very solid, beautiful toner. 4.7

That's an interesting quarter...a date you don't often expect to see with color and I'm guessing it's a business strike and not an SMS....I like it (luster helps) but to me it doesn't have the colors needed for a high toning score...I'm at 3.7

(I think it is worth grading as part of a larger sub)

Seems like a nice high grade gem Washington. I like the electric blues at the date. I also like the die crack at the base of the bust and wrapping around the eagles wing. Nice coin and excellent photography as usual.

Unfortunately I don't own any true monsters. I have a couple of Lincoln Cents that are stunning, but I just can't seem to capture the in hand look. I'm going to be sending them off to @robec to see what he can do with them. If he can capture what I see, they will be nice candidates for this thread. :)

I was in the threes at first glance, but considering the date, I am adding a full point.

We are on the same page as regards the date. Usually, that is the first of many blah toned dates, with mediocre luster. The OP’s coin is high grade, has great toning, and really attractive luster.

I’m at a 4.5 with this quarter. It has a rather “ha, I may not be silver but watch this!” It’s definitely not a monster but it’s at the start of the road.
