He is about the best seller of toned coins on all of E-Bay and his prices reflect that fact. I have bought many coins from him and his photos are usually very accurate. It is not uncommon for proof copper to tone in those colors.

Having said that, don't ask me what he is thinking with this monstrosity. If someone pays that, they should be committed.

BTW, his feedback is 100% with over 7000 sales and he used to only accept personal checks and delivery usually took two weeks. You would think that some moron would have negged him just for that but they didn't.

    toned or not

I say he has way to many toned coins for all to be the real thing.

look at the lady, no luster but the wings have luster. but they are not toned either.

no expert but thats my thinking.

He is a dealer who specializes in toned coins which explains why he has so many toned coins. Regarding that beastly ASE, he is selling it, but PCGS deemed it market acceptable. Personally, I don't think there is anyway that coin will reach his stated price.

My point was that the color of the slab was way off making it appear like the colors were inverted. Notice how the slab label looks grey?

That's due to the angle and the type light used. ;)

I have bought a few coins from greattoning. And although I have been happy with them, my experience has been that what you see is not exactly what you get. The colors in the pictures are juiced to a certain extent. They are more neon in the pictures than on the coin in hand.

But having said that, I will still buy from him. Why? Because he usually has some very nice coins. I just add in a mental adjustment when I look at his pictures.
