So I ordered this nice Antiochus III tetradrachm a few days ago. So I realized it doesn't have a mintmark. In my quick research couldn't find any with no mintmarks. If there are any with no mintmarks, do we have any idea on were they were made? Can anybody tell me if there are types with no mintmarks? Could it be that for some reason it is not visible on this one? I thank you all in advance!

By process of elimination we land on SC 484.1 (Antiochus II) due to the lack of any border and nude Apollo. Though the portrait does not match very well. If you go to http://allcoinage.com/search.php and choose "Apollo seated left on omphalos holding arrow" for the reverse and denomination as Tetradrachm and then do a browser search on your device for "none" you will see only a few choices. Unfortunately I have not gotten past Seleucus II, so there may be an Antiochus III that also fits, but I am working right now and will have to check references later.

Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it. My coin is Antiochus III, why are we looking also on the other rulers too?
