I don’t have my loupe on me so these are the best shots I can get right now, but does this look more like worn die or is there possibly doubling? I see what looks like it could be DDO slightly on the ear lobe, slightly to the right on the date and above the middle/top of the hair mainly... Wexler lists no dd’s for this year but you never know!
This is nothing more than deterioration doubling (date) and normal wear. They overuse the dies most of the time for all US denomination business strikes. They are meant for business circulation not for Mint or Proof sets...imo...Spark
Have to agree with Evan. They ran the ... out of the dies back then, more so than after the refinements done in the early '90's. Fully struck up specimens are tough to come by.
