1976 Bicentennial quarter error

    There looks like the date has doubling on the 7 and 9 at the bottom. Washington's pony at the bottom ribbon. and also Washington's ear to the right. also may have been struck by another quarter.

    If you believe you found a doubled die, the first thing you should do is check the following sites for an EXACT match

    www.doubleddie.com
    www.varietyvista.com

    Wexler's doubleddie.com also gives a good explanation of mechanical and die deterioration doubling under the tab "Worthless Doubling". If you're going to search for errors, you're going to find a lot of MD and DDD, so it's important to learn the characteristics or you'll waste a lot of time
