Grotty groat

    Hi everyone,
    I recently detected this Elizabeth I groat. As can be seen she is rather pock marked, I don't know if the strange damage was made by natural means or human. I know she wasn't the most popular queen to reign:happy: obverse of pock marked queen.JPG reverse of grotty groat.JPG

    Even though the coin has been around the block innumerable times, the coin is a really nice find.

    I was chuffed to bits, been a long time since I found a hammered silver coin, even longer for a groat!:)
