1880 vam 33a Morgan

    Merry early Christmas to me, I got my 1880 vam 33A .
    To me it appears to have been dipped at some point but it is straight graded .

    Nice. That squiggly line going from under the chin and across the neck, is that a hair inside the holder?

    Nice coin! Many of these were dipped, probably most. I think the term is, excepting the real botched-up jobs, they're "market acceptable," as is this one (...that is to say, were it dipped).

    it was on the holder I think as it is gone now

    Good. Something like that over time can leach into the coin and cause an ugly stain.

    it has AU 50/53 look but think they kept it at xf-45 because it was dipped , though it still looks nice
