Just picked this up for my World Coins Circulating in Early America set. I'll take a better picture when I get that white gunk removed from the edge.

That is a really nice looking piece. I'd be proud to own it.

A beautiful coin for sure. BTW, a little sandpaper will get the "gunk" off.

Seriously, do you plan on removing it from the slab? What's it graded at?

I use a hammer to get the gunk off. I plan on sending it to PCGS. It's currently graded 62BN.

I'm referring to the NGC fangs holding the coin.

I don't know a whole lot about these, but that seems to be a fantastic strike.

Out of curiosity, why are you sending it to PCGS?

I was thinking same thing . I think MS62 is fair . I personally would be happy. But best of luck to you .;)

Not to derail the thread, but depending on what you collect I recommend using this website: https://www.sixbid.com/en/

It aggregates a whole bunch of minor auction houses I'd never heard of (both US and foreign) and shows relevant results for what you're looking for.

62 seems a bit generous to me given the lack of finer detail to the laurel leaves, flattening of hair, breast and shield and a couple of hairlines

    Registry game.

Indeed. I've found some neat stuff this way. You have to do some due diligence regarding buyers fees, shipping fees, and currency conversions (and associated fees) so you don't end up with a nasty surprise, but it is a great resource. MA-Shops is another aggregator for stuff for sale outright.

Ah, well, I suppose that's about the only reason to do it.
