Here is something you don't see everyday. An MS68 SLQ in a Tuesday Internet Only Auction on Heritage. I can't imagine why this coin is not registered in the next Signature Sale. In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw an MS68 SLQ in auction at all. And yes I know that there were two in last months FUN auction, I must have missed them. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=29022&Lot_No=22214 Why would this coin be sold using this venue?
I have seen people who bought high end coins for good price at signature auction turn around and try to sell them at slightly higher price in sunday and tuesday auctions, most of the time there are no takers.
Heritage doesn't decide when the coin is going to be auctioned, the consignor does. Usually for signature auctions they prefer a minimum consignment of $5K, so maybe the consignor thought they didn't meet the minimum?

ill be the odd man out and say sure its a nice coin but i wouldnt bid on it if it was given to me for 67 money. why not? missing details on the shield and the face is not as clear
That coin sold for $6325 in Jan FUN sale, the photo was better in the Jan signature sale, I think the seller's reserve is probably at least $7k. This is the description 1926 25C MS68 NGC.</I> One of the two finest known 1926 quarters at either NGC or PCGS, the present MS68 example boasts a luscious, lightly patinated obverse in apricot-gold and jade-green hues, with a brilliant reverse. A just-miss Full Head coin, lacking that designation only because not much of the ear hole is visible, and only two of the three olive sprigs. Even close scrutiny with a loupe fails to reveal any mentionable abrasions, large or small. All of the shield rivets are present, but none of the shield lines are visible. I sure hope that coin is nicer in-hand, and I suspect that may be the reason that the coin is appearing in the internet only auction if you catch my drift.
Others beat me to it, but yeah, same coin that sold at FUN this year and also in 07 from the looks of it. SLQs are pretty scarce in 68, only about a dozen or so dates have coins in MS68 and I don't think that there's more than 50 in MS68 at all. There's only 4 or 5 that are MS68FH in the whole series, I think 2 of them are 28s and there are 2 30-S 68FHs as well. But the king of them all is the one 1919 that's MS69FH, I have never seen it, not even pics, but I hear that it is the most amazing SLQ you could ever imagine. If anyone wants exact figures I can check Cline's book, it has a pretty up to date census, and I don't recall that any super high grade SLQs have popped out of the woodwork lately, the super high grade coins are all pretty well known. Oh, Spock, that's not a bad strike for one of those actually.
