    Hey everyone! :D

I had recently acquired this coin from a good friend of mine. As I was about to put it away safely with the rest of my collection, I noticed there was something up with the date!

So knowing me, I pull out my 30X loupe, under my florescent lamp, and see what's there to explore! :D Turns out, there looks to be an extra piece of metal or "something" there that's not suppose to be! :)

If anyone has any information on what this might be, please let me know! Thanks! :D

looks like a die cud!!!!! (or something like that) some people say a "cud" must involve the rim of the coin. Nice find!!!

There was a die chip at the 5. I have (or had) one also the same date.

Very common die chip. Search a roll, circ or otherwise of most any 1950's date, you'll find them easily. Also in the Liberty....resulting in BIE cents.

Can't be that common? Over the years I've been collecting and searching rolls, this is one of the very few of them ;)

Common or rare, it's still a really nice coin in my perspective :D
