@SensibleSal66. If you check past posts by @tatter tott you'll find some members have been critical (and hurtful) of his spelling and lack of punctuation. The critics failed to understand he may have very little or no formal education. Here is a post on Coin Talk by his wife:
    upload_2020-11-25_2-49-12.png
The original post is dated Nov. 7, 2020 if you care to see some of the critical comments.
Re the critics @paddyman98 was the only one man enough to apologize.

Thank you very much for clarifying this thread. I would have assumed that the OP was a troll trying to mess with people, based on what I had read so far. I am not at all familiar with @tatter tott and the other thread. My assumption would have made a you know what out of me.

To his wife, daughter and @tatter tott, I encourage you to continue your new hobby. I feel bad as I almost posted something that would have been awful without knowing the full story. I may still not know the full story, but it will be easier to come into this discussion with a much more open mind than I originally had.

@tatter tott. I'm sure the owner of this site (Peter T. Davis), the moderators, and vast majority of members would agree when I say you're welcome to post anything about coins on Coin Talk. If someone doesn't like what you post, they don't have to read it. :)

Only one suggestion. Maybe this thread could be moved to the General Discussions thread by a moderator? It would be more appropriate there.

First of all let me apologise for the membership here....for the most part the people here are a good bunch of folks with a few exceptions.
Please know....I do not condone any nasty post towards you,but please understand the folks who do post here are very passionate about this hobby.
That said ...there are post daily by trolls and people who just love to stir and post crap!
One would think that durring these dificult times ( for everyone ) that ones heart would be a little softer, and open more for forgiveness and understanding.
But unfortunately we have entered into an era that everything is about "ME".
The compassion has left us,and a sence of entitlement seems to be the rule of the day.
The fact is that many don't realize is none of us are perfect....none of us experts....even those who do have a sheep skin hanging on a wall.
How many doctors have lost a patient? Answer all of them.....no matter how smart, skilled, or educated they are.
We all are given a gift....one must find and nourish that gift within you.
As I have gotten older, experenced life and death of family and friends Ive realized a lot.
That we are here a very short time...some shorter than others.... at some point on that time line one trully needs to wake the hell up!
One thing Ive learned is the human animal and we are just that...with a thumb....are some of the most dangerous animals on earth.
The animals below us...only kill to eat,or survive..... where humans with a free will and a developed brain hurt others because they can.
I am again sorry for the actions of a few and extend my hand in friendship even in the age of CV -19 to you.
I hope this holiday season dealing with this plague that some of us do some soul searching, find compassion within us....and give that gift to others who have not awaken to the fact it isnt always about you ...or me! ....its about US....the human race...and the fact it to has a time line....it had a starting point and as sure as hell there will be an ending one.
Tater tott welcome to CT.... I hope from this point on your time spent here is enjoyable.
To your wife and family happy holidays....stay safe wear the Damn mask wash your paws...!

I'll admit that when I first started reading your posts, I thought you were just trolling because we do get a lot of that here. Yes, I commented on your lack of punctuation. The lack of punctuation makes it so hard for me to follow someone's train of thought (You aren't the only one who has done this!) Sometimes, I have to read a post over and over again just to get the gist of the comment. Now, I feel bad because I simply took it for granted that you were probably "playing games" with us. Please accept my apology.

And, to "Mrs. Tott", thank you for bringing this to our attention.

To answer your question, yes it is possible to put a coin in an auction without having it graded.

BUT, it depends on the coin and the auction house. If you have a very rare coin an auction house will accept it, and most likely have it graded before it is sold. Why? Because most collectors won't buy expensive coins unless they are graded, and it will bring more money that way usually.

If the coin is not very rare most of the larger auction houses would not be interested in it ungraded. It wouldn't be worth their time and effort to have it graded. and most of the large houses rarely sell ungraded coins now. A smaller auction house might be willing to sell it ungraded, and of course there is always the possibility of selling it on ebay. Ungraded coins sell at auction there all the time.

Thanks for the input I really need to know that I have a bunch off uncirlated coins sorry for the misspelled words but I have a few that will mint really high and have some errors on them like strong doubling on them you can see it really easy I thought I would try to see if I could make a dollar and put these really nice coins in some one home I'm sure some would go for a pretty penny.I have some that will grade out a 68 or 69 for sure they are sweet I have any year you want and in different types as well I would love to put them in auction I think they would like some off these coins. I went though about 50 dollars worth off dime's last night got some pretty cool coins I got a1982 p dime strong doubling on front and back last night this thing is sweat.I got some 1985 1989 a couple of1983 p and d dime's these coins have very strong doubling on them front and back a kid can see the doubling on them I would like to sell some off these Went though some nickels didn't really get much I got a really nice 1954 it in pretty good shape I bought some quarters I got a 1970 d this thing is beautiful it seems different than the rest the date on it is so much bigger and after than the rest of the quarters I got it's really nice I got a 1983 quarter that is a possible doubling on the date it's in good condition I got a bicentennial quarter I have bunches off these coins I like the way they look their not worth anything I just like them but this one is different it's a d this coin has a place took out of it in front of it's mouth you can Tell it's done in the mint department this coin will hurt you're eyes when you look at it nice coin. I WILL SAY this my coins I have put up in plastic are as mint then any coin they have on eBay or a lot better I have the finest coins on the market plus I have them in any color you want and every date every error you can think off from doubling to extra ear broad struck machine doubling to MD to very strong doubling letters gone numbers gone but the most important thing I want have it not less it will grade 65 or better no need and having it it's only worth face value. I've got some money from other country I got to pieces yesterday German coins called One mark.I got a trade in I give a boy a 1962 d nice coin for a 1974 Kennedy half dollar grade 67 or 68 doubling on the in God we trust and on the letter 4 I thought it was a pretty good trade for real in needed that coin any way their pretty cool coins win there graded a little high cause you don't see that coin in grade really high so a nice one off those are hard to fine. I have several of the Kennedy half dollar coins but not that high in grade I'm staring to get a little better at this coin thing I should be I put the hours in I do a lot of reading more reading than any thing I Read for hours I have looked at the same coin for hours that is crazy but for me that is what it takes I go through thousands of coins a day I might not keep 10 off them they have to be perfect or I want keep theme. I'm thinking about going to Tennessee and stop buy and pick up 10,000 thousand dollars worth off different types off coins does any one know were the best place to get coins their at that way I can call and have this aggange I will tell you what I'm looking for and I will find one before I die but I have to be looking for it a1969 s in the best mint 70 if I can I have to put back right now I found both off them back to back in Penny's roll hunting I just found 2 1969 s and I found a1969 dall at the same time I don't have no ideal if their double or not I need some body to look at theme they are in good shape but not good enough I want a70 if it's possible. I'm going to go but my phone want take pictures but I need some one that knows their stuff to look at theme I would send theme to you and I will pay for all off it some one let me known and we will figure something out.

Where in Tennessee do you want to go to get $10K worth of coins? By any chance, are you referring to the US Mint Fulfillment Center?

There have been trillions and trillions of Lincoln "Wheaties" and Memorial cents struck from 1909-2008. Would you like to know how many business strikes have graded MS70? None! Even finding an MS68 or MS69 is extremely rare.

I don't want to bust your bubble, but there are hundreds of collectors on the CT forums who have been searching for major doubled dies for decades and have never found a single one. I suspect that you are confusing machine doubling with a true doubled die. We need to see photos.

I'm glad you are having fun, tatter tott. That's what this hobby is about. Nevertheless, a lot of "doubling" is not the result of a true doubled die, which is the only doubling that adds value.

I have run into a gold mine the last few days I am telling you I live in the hills of Kentucky and believe it or not their are some good coins I have doubling coins staring at 92 93,94,96,98,and 2000 all strong doubling some off the best coins you every look at these coins probably grade out at just guessing 67or68 pretty nice coins. I was roll hunting Monday I found 2 1969s coins and a1969 d coin all in one role nice shape I need some one too look at these coins and see if their are any doubling on it I don't know much about that coin. And yeah that is what I was talking about Tennessee thanks for the heads up I think I just going to spend it right were I'm at what would you do if you were going to drop that kind of Cash I heard Kansas was the coin place
