I came across some of these wounded eagle coins. Anyone have an idea on how much they could be worth?
Welcome to CT. The photos are too small to see anything. Can you please take a close up and crop out the background so we can see the coin. Also, please be specific as to where this is on the coin.
Very Nice !!!! I think they are worth at least 100 each of course it depends if there are buyers around. I see on ebay there is a bid for $179 for a MS-62 grade. I found one in box of dollar coins and i got it graded and it went over hundred dollars but this was about 10 years ago. In your picture I see only 5 of them but its probably the picture. I would get them graded because they look uncirculated. Also, tell everyone how you came across them. Snowman
I will post some better pictures, I’ve had a roll of them for a while and when I opened them they are mostly like this. It’s hard to get a decent picture of them because they’re so shiny. The roll is from the mint so they’ve never been opened before. No scratches or anything like that.
On eBay there are a good number that are not actually the wounded. And there are a number of 2000 D they claim are wounded.
Amazing find Marc .... For those who don't know what a wounded eagle is, its a loose term for a die gouge used by variety collectors for this particular one. Its listed in the cherrypickers guide as FS-901 for those who use it. The main companies that grade also use the cherrypickers references too.
Nice. I have some others that have never been taken out of the roll from the mint. Any idea how much a perfect one would be worth?

ive never really had a interest in Sacajawea dollars. while i was reading up on this or i seen allot sacs with errors plus its a really nice looking coin. so ive joined the hunt.
The wounded eagle error isn't that obvious to the naked eye, is it? In the bottom two it just jumps out to you. Am I the only one skeptical about these coins?
