Found this 1979D RPM variety in my latest bank box. I am so far unable to definitively match it to known varieties on Variety Vista, Wexler or Coppercoins. Anyone have any idea on this?
RPM? All I see is a blob and a heavily beat up old cent,even if it is an RPM its not the million dollar jackpot.
Yours has seen a bit of circulation. But it is the same as this one here. http://varietyvista.com/02b LC RPMs Vol 2/1979DRPM001.htm The pick up for this variety is the notch on the bottom left of the D. Yours also matches the MM placement.
I've been doing the Lincoln Cent thing for over 65 years and not found the million dollar jackpot! That has actually never been my driving force. My parents taught me to be constructive and positive by nature.
I agree it is close to 001 but it seems to also be close to Coppercoins 003. I may try to see if Chuck Daughtrey can give me some guidance.
I do see your reference their on Coppercoins. I would agree. I had no idea CC had three RPMS listed I rarely use them.
