I would like to state that this coin is very deeply toned yet extremely lustrous. In all of my previous photo attempts, I captured the color adequately but could not reduce the glare to acceptable levels. Check out this new photo: blazing color with minimal glare and it really shows the surfaces very well. What are your thoughts?
Looks good to me. Just photographing a coin is tough let alone a toned one. Think I may buy photo shop and possibly a new camera.
Yes you did nail that photo.... ...however unless you're trying to show a rotated die, it appears that Monticello is a bit lopsided. Very nice photo, Lehigh!
Mike, I bet there is a way in photoshop to rotate a photo less than 90 degrees, I just don't know how to do that yet. I had to angle the coin a bit to get the color to show and my camera position made that angle appear. Paul
Hey Lehigh, all you need to do is press the cursor option, then Ctrl+T and you'll be able to rotate it when the cursor is off of the picture in the grey area. Give it a try = ) Beautiful pics!
I think Lehigh takes all his photos through rose-colored glasses. I don't have Photoshop but I do have Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements has a 'Straighen Tool' where you draw a line across the image that rotates the image so the points along that line will be horizontal. Check out your image after I used the 'Straighten Tool' on it.
Nice toned coin. But you have to admit, that it took 2 photos to get that (those) shot(s). I wish I had the apparatus, and the coins, to take all of the photos that Lehgh96 has taken. (Especially all his toned coins) Bruce
Sorry, I don't remember the command to do it in Photoshop.... FWIW, I do rotation in RAW (Nikon Capture NX 2) -- tried it a while ago in PS, but was more satisfied with the rotation on the RAW data. You might want to look into going RAW (or whatever Canon's version is, if that's your flavor) -- for this and a few other reasons.... Hope this helps...Mike
mighty fine nickel, there but I can't tell from the pics... is it FS? and YES!!! you nailed the pic!!!
