I’ve been collecting ATB quarters since 2018. Because I don’t do any CRH-ing, I always have to look through my change. Still, I’ve been able to find everything up to 2019, plus the one with the Bats for 2020. I would really like to find some “W” mintmarks but it’s very difficult – to nearly impossible – to find one in everyday change. But, forget about the “W,” I can’t even seem to find any “P” or “D” ATB quarters (except for the Bat) so far this year. So imagine my surprise when I saw an envelope addressed to me with 4 encapsulated quarters in them, 3 of which I’ve been looking for! So I’m all ready to take them out of their capsules and put them in my album. Suddenly, I hesitated. Don’t know why. Then I wondered why they were encapsulated in the first place. Why not just send them in flips? I would’ve been happy with P or D – anything – just to fill the slots. On a whim, I checked their MMs. Could it be? Am I that lucky? Imagine how surprised I was to see that they’re all from the West Point mint with the V75 privy mark! What a jaw-dropping moment! So I decided not to put them in the album. For the album, I’ll keep on searching for Ps and Ds. I’m going to keep them encapsulated and put them in a case like this. This isn’t the case. It’s just for an example. I’ll have to buy one. And then I’m gonna customize a plate to remember the kindness of someone I’ve never met – who put a big smile on my face. Something like this maybe. Thank you @Beardigger for your kindness. And generosity.
Wow!! That's Awesome!! Are you intent on finding those you need on your own? I would be happy to help you fill those spots. Even roll hunting I never find W mint either, but P or D I could do.
Yes - for now - part of the fun is finding them in loose change. But as I get frustrated sometime in Q3 of 2021, I might take you up on your offer. Earlier this year, I posted that I was just about to give up trying to find the MAINE statehood (not ATB) quarter. That's when @Beardigger sent me one. To this day, I still look for Maine. Still nothing. But at least I've got the one Beardigger gave me.
Yes - me too. I like it a lot. But I also like the amazing details on WV - John Brown's Fort: The ATB series has A LOT of really nice quarters. And you know what, it only cost you a quarter to keep them.
@JeffC . I found this for you . John Brown's Fort - Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
Thanks Jeff....You are too kind. You neglected to say that you sent me me a years worth of The Numismatist Magazines to read and enjoy! I am enjoying reading them, and learning a lot! So glad you liked the quarters~!
I need to check to see if the last W for this year has been issued yet. I thought I was going to miss finding a salt river Bay......but then lady luck smiled on me. Now I'm hoping Lady Lotto will smile on me too! LOL EDIT: must have missed the issue date. I see some Tallgrass W's on eBay already. Have seen no TP quarters around here yet.
