View attachment 1206607 View attachment 1206608 This one seemed like the color and planchet were decent which seems hard to find with classic heads. Little verdicare should help with the light verdigris. $40 seemed like an ok buy price. G-4 detail or AG-3?
The only distracting marks are the scratches, but still a nice coin. I would have bought it too. Bruce
Pretty decent planchet and color as these dates go, particularly in low grades. A nice pick-up for $40.
Good surfaces. Too bad about the scratches but I think a little verdicare will resurrect this one before the damage gets worse
All things being equal (if all coins were graded by the same criteria) it's AG-03. All coins are not graded by the same criteria, as key dates and very old coins get a little leeway. At over 200 years old, full date and VERY nice Liberty, it might squeak G-04.
Back then skilled workers made about a dollar or so a day (usually 10 or more hours a day) and unskilled less. That's when a cent had some buying power, unlike today. Bruce
