Apart from the crappy zincoln finish Has all the attributions as listed Split serifs in LI of Liberty, U in Trust and the 9 in date. Die crack under the bust Die cracks in columns 9,10,12 on reverse Strong spread in the motto http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1984DDDO001.htm
The '9' and '4' bothers me. They do not look like that shown for the variety in the source above. The tip of the 9 caught my eye as it didn't look like the one in the book which had increased in thickness and the top of the 4 not as displaced. I think it is MD. IMO, Jim
I’m sorry but my opinion is no. The tell tale signs of this variety is the 8 and the 4 (I have one somewhere in my mess). There are no listed die markers for a crack under the bust. This appears (to me) to be DDD. http://doubleddie.com/828865.html
Just looked on there and wow, it;s no wonder most of us get confused, totally different images to VV. Plus VV has 8 listed DDO's to Wexler's 3 Thanks for your input, back to looking tomorrow, only about 300 more to examine.
The images depends on the stage. Here’s another reference to look at: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984d1do001&die_state=lds
