Impressive, and very nice looking coin @Okidoki. What does EXERCITVS RAETICVS stand for? Is it part of his travel series coinage? I understand Rhaetia is a Alpine region?
raeticus province The Roman forces in Raetia if we go by the Lambaesis inscription where he continually presents 'my legate...' https://www.livius.org/pictures/alg...lambaesis-legionary-base-view-from-the-north/ EXERCITVS Army https://www.forumancientcoins.com/numiswiki/view.asp?key=exercitvs https://www.forumancientcoins.com/numiswiki/view.asp?key=exercitvs raeticvs
Great addition. I like the patina a lot, it gives to the reverse's scene a "cold and foggy, early morning, before battle" impression. Very dramatic Q
Really cool coin. I'd love to have one. Even more impressive than the Trajan type where he acclaims the soldiers from the curule chair mounted on a rostrum. The rendering of the detail of the soldiers is awesome. Surely a talented celator carved the dies.
