    When I bought this 'coin' years ago I was well aware it was not ancient but hoped it was a Paduan. It turns out that it is not in that catalog either so I guess it is just an older replica that is prettier than many. My first collection sold in 1974 included a worn denarius version of this type as issued by Septimius Severus. I have never replaced that coin in my current holdings but use this 'sestertius' fake to remind me of the one I sold.

    Charles succeeded his Dad (Philip Le Bon) to the Burgundian throne. He made many enemies/ finally he and his army were annihilated at the Battle of Nancy vs the Swiss. Next up same topic started by Alegandron:)

    I seem to have lost the exact ID for this Byzantine piece I have but I recall one side is holding a globus cruciger.
