I've had this dime for awhile and I'm not lucky enough for it to be a Die cap, so does anyone know why it looks like this?
Of course. The edge flattens out if you tap it for a long time. I've done it myself! Try a clad quarter.
A hammered coin. The coin was reportedly tapped with a hammer on a hard surface, but the person preforming it was impatient and turned it too much each time, ending up with very uneven surfaces. A spooning would have given them a better edge. Just PMD and NAV. Welcome to CT BTW.
