    Hello everyone,
Today I went Metal Detecting at a new fresh location. Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn NYC.

I did very good on this first detecting hunt there.
I found 4 US Silver, 1 Canadian Silver and what appears to be a US Marine Corp Civil War Button.

    1 - Standing Liberty Quarter 1920
    1 - Canadian Silver Quarter 1944
    2 - Silver War Nickels 1944 & 1945
    1 - Silver Roosevelt 1960

    Wheat Cents - 17 Each

    The rest -

Old Ring - maybe a copper Signet Ring

    USMC Civil War Era Button
Any help to verify it is welcome!

Our detecting club got together today. Everyone else found a few more Wheat Cents. 1 Silver Mercury and 2 Barber Dimes.

Nice finds Ed. My buddy Ole found a Civil War era watch fob a couple of days ago at the former Great Barrington, Ma. Fairgrounds.

@paddyman98 I feel like a broken record. Awesome finds!

Do you need a special permit to MD in a preserved Fort?

Thanks.. Fort Greene is on the list of permissible parks to detect in NYC. We have our yearly Detecting Permits. We were just told to be very careful and keep eveything tidy.

That Type 2 SLQ is an excepentional find since it has a date. Would that be the first dated type 2 SLQ you've ever found @paddyman98?

That 1920 is pretty cool. I'll bet you will be spending some more time in that park.

We get to most places by car when we go together as the club. I just checked and there is a train I can take which leaves me 2 blocks away from Fort Greene Park. I have 6 vacation days left for this year I need to use up! So yes I will be there ;)
