I'm looking to sell a 1897 Kruger half pound gold coin.
It's not mint, slightly worn. It is a single shaft.
Any idea what it's worth and what is the best way to sell this?
    Any help will be appreciated.

That's pond - not pound. Just take it to any coin dealer. Value varies with condition, circulated grades go from $50 to $170.

Is it all to do with condition? There is a similar coin (mint) listed on ebay for over $5000.

Is anyone bidding on it? Anyone can put something on eBay and ask a ridiculous price.

No - date and mint can also play a part. You asked about a specific date and I related info for that date.

Or it could be somebody asking a rediculous price as noted hoping that somebody would be stupid enough to pay it. And yes it happens.
