I am not sure if that is the correct terminology. This happens when a coin is in close or direct contact with the paper sheet in an album. Here is one I picked up today. Post em if you got em!
I do believe that @hotwheelsearl has the right words but the transfer comes from this type of situation. Or it happens when someone forgets to put back a sleeve in an album.
I refer to them as Whitman toned. I haven't seen one as sharp as the OP coin, though. That's pretty sweet.
I've never seen them on Lincolns. Very cool @messydesk Here is one on a Barber Quarter, I have the matching O but it seems I can't find it in my Photos.
"Album Transfer" is what I've always called them. Interestingly, I was going to post a quiz using one of these coins. IMO, they are very scarce. The OP's example is the best I've ever seen!
Yeah, it also cost me a pretty good premium. But I just couldn't pass it up. Sorry to ruin one of your Quiz's.
I saw this one posted by a guy on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CHGv5wjrHbB/ (edit: scroll through the screens as it shows the type of album page from where the text could come from) I like the look of yours @Pickin and Grinin
I think the link will work on a computer but not mobile. The guy hid the cert number, so here is a screenshot:
