Just give me what you got. If someone has a nicer coin and submits it to me, then your coin will get bumped, but I need to get this going so that others will participate.
Do I get a sticker? If I submit it I want a sticker. Paul, after all this time I'm taking you out of my ignor box See yah later...and enjoy the project. Ruben
I nominate the above as the funniest post of the week. I wonder how many people even remember what we were arguing about back then. I will never put you in the ignore box my friend, you are way too exciting and entertaining. I hope the project takes off, I think it will be fun if we can get enough members to participate. Cya Ruben
As you might guess from the Obama thread, I'm definetely and elephant and remember all too well... But I'll tell you a funny story. One of the participants during that time was PMing me repeatedly and edging on the disagreement and was much focused on you particlarly, even more so than I was at the time. And then about 3 weeks ago he got seriously ticked off at me over a thread and a PM I sent him with regard to the topic and then blew up at me publicly and stormed off of coin talk. And hear we are... he's gone. You and I still talk. You just never know Ruben
That is funny. Sounds like that person doesn't handle conflict well. After all, he wanted you to fight his battles for him and then ran away when you two found a disagreement. My problem has always been that my own thick skin in combination with my huge ego makes it almost impossible for me to understand that I am offending others. East coast people like yourself seem to handle me the best. I think that is because there are so many people like me on the East coast. I never told you this but, when you blocked me I was devastated. I kept thinking, who am I going to argue with. Plus I knew it would eventually evolve into a friendship. You are aces in my book Ruben, don't ever change. Your pal, Paul
Well, I had to ask for intervention because it was getting beyond my ability to work with it. I either needed to find help or I was going to have to bow out of the forum...and I never bow out of forums. (See the history on the NYLUG mailing list, crackmonkey et al) And you had a hoard of bees working the angles and wearing me out. It was like being the least popular guy in the school yard. I just try to be creative and constructive and if I ever get one person to understand validation, or that the Mint isn't a business, then I'll have contributed just a little bit more to the world. Anyway, I'm ready to go back to the gold standard...how about you? Ruben
I think I am one of the few that sees your point with regards to the CAC being a fraud. I have to be honest though, I don't understand the US economy enough to know whether that would be a good thing or a bad thing with regards to the gold standard. For my own sanity, I try not to worry about things that are out of my control. Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss.
I think this is a really cool idea Lehigh. How did you set up the original post to be formatted so perfectly? How did you get the columns right? the tables?
Thank you for the kudos, I just wish someone would send me some photos of their slabbed Peace Dollars. As far as the formatting goes, you ain't gonna believe it: Trial & error.
TY spock, but I need the obverse and reverse and big enough that the cropped coin will be 500x500 pixels. Please!
yikes that big ! well i only have archived photos. poor mumba has beeen posting pics of indian coins i really need to get a camera but until then thats all i have. ill check to see if i have some older pics. cant you increase the size to 500?
It was my feeling that nobody really owns NGC or PCGS graded Peace Dollars. I thought it would be a fun idea at the time, but it really did not generate much support from the Cointalk members.
It will take some work but I'll try to get some photos of mine. the only problem is that I cracked them to place them in my album and they are only ms-63. Is that ok if I still have the paper grade from ngc or pcgs?
