Lehigh.... Looks like a great start to a nice set! However, I am some what surprised by your randomness on this set compared to your strickness on the others wonderful coins you have! None the less, a beautiful set it will be!! Good luck RickieB
At that pace, you sound like you're out to corner the market. Tell you what, though, you've got good taste in these. I imagine some organizing principle will take shape over time.
Yes, I see the grade on that 34 and Peace dollars are not exactly my area, but I don't see the problem with that 34. It is not a great strike, but it is still a very clean coin - slide marks or not. Are you sure that is not more PCGS versus NGC? Or, my opinion, just undergraded?
I think my addiction to Peace Dollars is turning into an obsession. I am currently tracking 10 different Peace Dollars in Heritage auctions. With regards to an organizing principle, I sincerely hope not. I want this set to show that diversity can work just as well as organization. It will be like sampling every flavor of "eye appeal" when I am done.
Very nice, I see. You're shaking off traditional constraints. You're a pioneer, Lehigh, a real trail-blazer. Good luck.
I think that Peace Dollars are my favorite silver dollar series. I think that a beautiful peace dollar will be the next coin I add to my type set collection.
Nice collection. I made a peace dollar my first graded and slabbed coin. They are a particularly beautiful depiction of Liberty. I also admire your free approach to buying coins that appeal to you.
