Hey Lehigh96, Noticed those coins at the bottom of all of your posts. Are those ones you have in your collection? Where do you find most of your toned coins? Is it me or do proof coins seem to be more prone for toning than business coins? Thanks, Rodger

All of the toned coins in my signature line are in my collection. Each one represents my favorite toned coin for each denomination. However, I made the photo a while ago and some may get bumped off if I were to do it now. Toned coins can be found just about everywhere. I buy most of my coins from Heritage or dealers that specialize in toned coins such as Anaconda (now out of business) and Island coins. I buy most of my cheaper material on E-Bay and leave the expensive stuff to Heritage. The problem with Heritage is that they don't really capture rainbow toning very well in their images due to the sheer volume of coins they need to image every week. However, I have become exceedingly proficient at predicting what the toning will look like in hand after viewing a Heritage photo. This skill has allowed me to purchase some very nice toned material that would normally sell for a much higher price from a toned coin dealer. If you ever need help finding a particular toned coin, let me know and I will help you as best I can. Paul
It's you. Business strike coins actually tone faster and easier than Proof coins due to the texture of the surfaces. Proof coins have a much smoother surface thus exposing far less surface to the air and that makes them tone more slowly. And you also have to consider how many business strike coins get dipped thus removing the toning. So while you may see more Proofs with toning from any given series, had the coins been left alone that would not be the case.
Yes - and that is why Paul should box them up, ship them to me. Then start all over again. I will be happy to provide pictures over the years so he could see how well they are doing.
