This idea was partly inspired by Toads Cointalk Fugio collection but I have had the idea for a while to assemble an NGC registry set comprised of coins owned by cointalk members. I have chosen Peace Dollars because the series is relatively short and affordable.

If you would like to participate, please send me a photo of your coin (obverse & reverse) with a minimum size of 500x500 pixels. I will then add the photo to the collection photo (see below) and give credit to the owner in the text below the collection photo. New additions to the collection must either be a date/mint that is not complete or a coin that is of equal or better quality of a coin that is already in the collection. For equally graded coins, I will create a new thread asking the CT members to vote which coin gets the slot. Higher graded examples will automatically make it into the set replacing the lower graded coin. Only PCGS and NGC slabbed coins will be accepted in the set.

Here is the start up photo of the collection. I have added 4 of my Peace Dollars from my Personal collection to get this project off the ground. Anytime someone adds a coin to the collection, I will update and repost both the collection photos and the supporting text.

Good idea. I'd love to participate, but I don't have any Peace dollars in good enough condition.

I will open it up to raw Peace Dollars as long as the forum members agree on the grade. Why don't you do a guess the grade thread on your Peace Dollar and we can see what grade everyone gives it. Then we can add it with the grade that Doug gives it.;)

I have some nice Peace Dollars Paul, just they are in their original bank rolls.....

    Can we do SLQs? :D

It appears that nobody collects slabbed Peace Dollars. The SLQ series is pretty big (38 coins) and very expensive. I guess we could to a one per date SLQ collection. I definitely want to do a Jefferson War Nickel Collection, I know we have a lot of Jefferson collectors.

I would increase the TPG's to ANACS & PCGS. :thumb: That should fill out the Registry and I like how you did yours! :eek:hya: I hope other collectors will do the same with their interests. ;)

I'll have to see if I have anything good.
    My 1921 is a MS-61 or -62.
    My 1928 is an MS-62.
Someone's probably got better than that.

    My best is a 1922 in MS-65.
But that's a common date and someone probably has better too.
