    Hello all,

I finally received this after I had hesitation! I wanted to share this with you guys and get your opinion on this I’m thinking it’s possibly AU due to the details of her hair and her dress. It’s strange though the coin is a chocolate brown but almost has a bluish tint to it that reflects light so getting a picture of her in her full beauty will be a task for me at best. I don’t believe it’s been cleaned all seems fine at 10Xs I’m not sure what could cause this unless it’s natural for a well preserved coin of this age or maybe something added to prolong its life? I will also be listing this coin on my store but not sure if I should get it graded prior from NGC or PCGS, I usually do NGC because I have a membership and have been happy with all of the times having a coin graded previously. She does have a mark on a part of the rim of the obverse of the coin but nothing that distracts to much I honestly think it looks a lot more harsh in the picture then in hand. Thank you! Do you think she would grade straight? I see a few nicks and dings makes me think maybe that’s why it hasn’t been previously graded or if it’s been in hands of people that prefer raw coins?

I uploaded pictures of its with the white light and the camera angled to show what I mean about the blue tint. It’s only really noticed with a bright light on it.

Half cents my blind spot in copper... but we got a few 1/2cent specialists who will probably chime in :D Very nice coin but if that is corrosion on "united" is details.. that rim ding on the bottom obverse could also earn it a details grade and the "cuts" behind the bust... no not AU not with even 1/2 those things added up. if not detailed vf-ef.. sorry but that's what i see... but with a details tag i could see it called AU, details are fantastic, has lots of eye appeal

Yea the more you look at it the more you can see huh? I’m thinking probably a reason this coin is not graded. It’s a beautiful piece to enjoy that doesn’t need the details attached to it to bring it down. She will be listed though graded or un graded. It makes me want to do a 1/2 book

I must say since I picked up buying and selling not so much for collecting I just get coins that I can that I would for myself if I were collecting. Sucks letting go some of these but I know I’ll be able to hold another coin and study it that I never have the chance to and maybe never will again. It’s kind of fun in a sense but usually what you see is just my taste and yes it’s all over the place lol.
