Sorry, I tried to post this in FAQ, but it wouldn't let me. So far i have been using the typical white cardboard 2 x 2 coin holders, which are fine and from what I understand are the basic of coin storage in this hobby. I'm unfamiliar with flips, but after looking around a bit I basically understand there to be two types, vinyl and non pvc. Vinyl is not recommended for long term storage but non-pvc/non plasticazied can be? Are there any recommendations on which brand to use if I would like to use these instead of the cardboard flips?

I found the BCW brand on Ebay, and it does say vinyl right on the package, but in the body of the auction it says it does not contain pvc, so would these be ok for long term storage (over 5 years)?

Flips should only be used for short term storage or shipping for any good collectable coin , I'd recomend hard plastic 2X2s like Intercept Shield or Airtites , here's a good link for them

Hi Bmac! Welcome to the Forum! This subject is a very common one and many have differing opinions. If you look at the top menu bar, you will see "search". If you put the words "flip storage" you will get a result of 60 previous threads lately that will give you a lot of information. Glad to help on any questions. " Your mileage may vary":D

hey rzage, got any feedback on the Intercept albums? I always wanted to put my AU/MS buffalo nickels in an album but I don't think a Dansco will keep them MS like i would like them.

saf-flip makes a mylar one. Supposed to be good for long term storage. Heat sealable too and inexpensive as well.

I like saflips myself and the intercept holders - which reminds me, I need to order more of those. I swear I had a few in a junk supply box, but they seem to have gone walkabout. Your mileage will absolutely vary.
