Was browsing Cummins-Allison's web page today and came across this.

    http://www.cumminsallison.com/worldwide/coin/default.htm

"Automatic Oiler -- Dispenses a pre-set amount of oil onto the coins passing through the sort disk, allowing them to pass through without interruption."

Kind of sucks to hear that our coins are being "oiled" for us.

Um...not quite sure where you read that. I followed your link, and the word "oil" does not appear on that page.

Ah...I found it now. Had to follow the link to the individual machine descriptions.

Yeah, I guess it's kind of a drag. Hopefully nothing too valuable is being run through them.

Of all the substances that could be used to speed the so called process along, I should think that a little oil would do no harm whatsoever.

Oil is a rather good retardant of oxidation.

Unfortunately, It's also good at attracting dirt.

I couldn't find any guidance on their website as to what actual oil they use and all the Cummins-Allison's I've seen taken apart, I didn't see any mechanism for oiling the coins,

BUT, I have not seen up close any of the models listed on that page (sorry, I should have said to click through the models, I wanted to show that several models made that claim, not just one).
