I just got this message from the U.S. Mint.

Don't believe the price noted. It is actually $ 35.95 + the $ 4.95 shipping.

    Native American $1 Coin Rolls

Beginning in 2009, the Native American $1 Coin features a unique reverse design each year, commemorating important contributions made by American Indian tribes and individual Native Americans to the history and development of the United States. This year's reverse design, Three Sisters of Agriculture, depicts a Native American woman planting seeds in a field of corn, beans and squash. Purchase these coins today on the United States Mint Web site in rolls of 25 coins each for $25 per roll, from either of the United States Mint facilities at Philadelphia or Denver.

    OH ! Hey thanks Green,

My misinterpretation, I didn't see where you had to order $ 250.00 worth.
I went ahead and ordered the -P mint roll, just hoping that they will release the Denver mints out here to the banks. Ummmmmm ?

    Hi, Mojave!!

I think the best thing that a person could do, if he or she could afford it, would be to order $250.00 worth of the coins, keep one roll and then cash the remaining $225.00 in at a local bank. The shipping is free from the Mint if you order it this way so there's really no way to lose it seems...

You wouldn't get the nice, pretty yellow wrapper from the Mint, but who cares? They're the same coins that you'd get in the red-and-white wrappers...

I wonder if the local banks will have rolls of these like they have the Prez Dollars..

I'm patient. I'll wait until the Mint set comes out in the Summer.

You don't see it because it doesn't really say it so bluntly. You have to know where to look and put 2 and 2 together.

In the online shop area, you click on the "$1 direct ship" program bar on the left side where all the different coin options is located. On that page, you can buy a box of 10 rolls for face value ($250) with free shipping.

You can also get most of the previous Pres dollars. I like Jeffersone so I buy a box of his, every so often. I love the new dollar coins. I use them in the vending machines and the subway.

The only draw back is that you can't pick the mint. I've recieved Denver coins and I've received Philly coins in different shipments. You have to take what they give you. It's a crap shoot and mintmark is not listed on the wrapper.

So, if you are a P and D collector. Spending $35 for a roll isn't that bad if you don't go to a lot of coin shows or can find them locally.
