That is just plain wrong! (insert crying smiley again)

I about melted when I started scrolling down. ;) I don't know which one I'd want the most, but I know I want all of them. :D

Thanks for sharing this with us, CB! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Toad - I figured you might like it! For me, my favorite is the Rhode Island Ship medal that one day I will own (well, maybe not given their expense). There is a great story behind that one which, as you know with my Conders, turns me on!

I want a Higley Copper. :D I don't know what it is about them but it's on my list just above a Rhode Island. ;) But there isn't a single one on that list that I don't want (if I don't have one already). :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

I am bumping this simply because if you haven't looked at the first part of this linked thread, then you are really missing out!

I really like the elephant token, continental dollar, Mott token, Myddelton Token, actually they are all awesome! 1781 N. America Token looks like 84/81? St Patrick half penny he is rockin' out. Thanks for sharing Catbert

This one's my favorite: 1778 / 1779 Rhode Island Ship Medal.

    ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

The fugio doesn't look so bad either = ) or the bar cent.....or the or the or the lol. great link!

Wow! I have quite a few of those but not in those conditions. I have wanted a Higley since the first time I saw a picture of one as a kid about eight years old. I'll never get one unless I stumble on one metal detecting though.

Man, sketcherpbr, you and I think alike. This is definitely on my looong term want list, assuming I somehow get a lot of money and can squander on a RI Ship. Check this lucky dog's NP:

Yes, there are collectors who just have the cash that I will never have and we must accept our fate!

Look at the die clashes on that Fugio! Some of the most obvious I've ever seen. A truly beautiful collection.

But I am frightened by how unaccepting some of those people are of what they deem "non-American" coinage, to the point of snobbery!

Catbert, i don't know how i missed this thread! Beautiful coins (and beautiful photos).
My dream coin? the Continental Dollar for sure.
I wished i had bought the specimen which was offered to me once, for what now seems like a very moderate sum........oh well, in another life maybe.

    Thanks again,
    Eduard

AHHHH that looks amazing. wowowowow. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford something like that....unless I hold the state of Hawaii hostage. hmmm.....sounds crazy enough to work.

Let us know if you start seeing black panel vans, with dark tinted windows, parked in your neighborhood?

    Ribbit ;)

OK - you guys have got to see this collection of type:

    http://pinnacle-rarities.com/Collections/SounderTypeSet/intro.html

"The Sounder Collection is one of the finest type collections to ever be assembled. It spans the first official coinage of our nation in 1793 all the way to today, in every denomination, design type and metal except for gold."

CRO has coins in many price ranges. From a few hundred dollars to many tens of thousands.... I'm much closer to the former than the latter, trust me. :)

p.s. Sounder has some nice coins (and candidly some dogs too -- like all of us). He has the #1 type set on NGC, IIRC.

Mike - agreed, that's a stunner. Where are the prices for these posted (not that I can afford them)?
