Portugal 1/2 Tostao, 50 Reis 1600's

    The Title is just a guess at what I believe it is, I would really like if some one could tell me for sure and it's aprox. value even though it has a hole, Thank you for your time.

    Sorry I cant help you with the value but I do think it is a lovely coin even with the hole :thumb:

    Right denomination, wrong date. The coin is from 1717. Value is listed as $250 in VG, $450 in F and $900 in VF. I would say your coin has at least VF detail, but the hole will greatly reduce value. But I would think it is still worth several hundred dollars even holed.

    Then why are other XXXX marked coins 40 reis and this one isn't?

    Ps: I just noticed a slight difference between the OP coin and the one I posted, which is probably why the dates are different. :goofer:

    yes, but that post isn't the coin ;-)
    have to look closer
    my coin has regen on the left side of the crown not etalg
