Another new addition to my type set! :) It was originally in a problem free anacs slab before I broke it out. What do you think it grades?

I am not good at grading these but I will say I believe it to be harshly cleaned.

Lovin the die cracks/clashes man! :D

I would say AU-58 to low MS. I would say this becuase to me it looks as if it was harshly cleaned, especailly with all those scratches, and the shine it has.

I also see a bit of wear on the leaves and shield lines. But other than that, a really nice coin with great details. Nice pick up! :D

I do not think cleaned and I am going with MS63. Very nice coin - I like the way the obverse looks in the pictures.

I'm not sure about the cleaning. If you are referring to the hairlines, my camera picks up stuff that can't be seen with the human eye...I've photographed coins that I pulled straight out of an unopened mint set, and it seems to exaggerate all of the lines even worse than this one. I do know the coin has nearly full luster. I suppose it could be cleaned, but I doubt harshly. The coin has gorgeous cartwheels in hand. Also, ANACS didn't notate any problems.

I do see doubling as well under my 30x loupe. It only appears on the motto though as far as I can see. I don't see it on the date, and I'm unsure of the devices.

    Not at all. What's wrong?

I would say MS 63 and that the dies that struck the coin are worn.

That's a nice Shield Nickel. It has a strong strike - full shield lines and full star lines. I don't see any wear at all. However, the numerous small scratches are distracting. I will guess ANACS graded it MS-63.

How so? It's a portrait of the man's wife who designed the peace dollar.

Nothing at all. I just wasn't sure you were serious. But hey, you are entitled to your opinion and that is just fine as coin grading is somewhat subjective. I would be interested to see a picture of a shield nickel you would consider mint state. :)

thanks for all the comments everyone!! ready for the grade? btw, none of you agreed with anacs yet.
