Hey all, first post. I was looking at this coin and I noticed that it was missing the 4 of the 2004. How do I know its a 2004? You can very very barely see the 4 on the coin. There is no bump at all. Is it from circulation or mint error? I scanned it at 1200DPI making it 980KB so I put it on blogger. Welcome to CT, Utah. The missing numeral in the date was caused by a grease-filled die. It is not worth much of a premium because these are somewhat common.
Thanks! I think I will hang onto it as its the first one i've found (read: noticed, ha). I enjoy sentimental coins.
I concur!! But, how many times do you get to extract an unusual coin from your change? By all means, keep this "struck thru" and you've got another collectible coin. Keep on searching, Bruce :thumb:
