I have to agree with Vess1 here as I have real estate which I currently have lost a lot of money on. My coins have held fine- the nicer ones especially. Just MHO

Vess, now you've done it. This thread is automatically going to get four pages longer as he tries to prove that he's right.

I actually own property in NYC and I live right next to it :)

I used to own rental property, it's generally a huge PITA and can be a full time job. Personally, I make money selling cars and investing/helping to run a separate business.

Still, it would be fun to be a coin dealer I think :)

    Back to the original topic...

There is another major auction coming up in February - Long Beach. Keep an eye on that one; I certainly will. I'll bet strong coins continue to bring strong money. Very much in line with Laura Sperber's last two articles.

But don't look at just one or two coins and scream "the sky is falling". Survey the field - get a broad view.

If you claim the coin market has crashed, then post up the awesome deals you got. Show me.

Buy coins for what you can afford out of discretionary income, and forget about prices. Makes coin collecting much more enjoyable, at least for me. :)
