Why? There is no 1977 over 1974 overdate

 

I know. But if people going to post photos, they have to make sure that people can actually see them clearly. That was my point.

 

My point is that everyone else and myself know that whatever he is seeing is some kind of Paredolia..
But he might post better pictures just for you.

clear photos and understanding how coins are minted, plus researching errors is also very useful

 

Thanks everyone for your help but instead of me needing to read up on what errors are possible I think some of you guys need to read more about coin errors instead of being so quick to say no, nope, no way because errors like this do happen here's one for example and if you will notice it is graded by NGC and I trust them if they say it is real The article quoted above is based on an eBay listing for a “1970-S Proof Washington Quarter Struck on 1941 Canada Quarter NGC PF 65.” The coin is currently listed by Mike Byers, Inc. for USD$35,000:

 

Not to be mean but it’s good practice to know at least SOMETHING about your topic before berating others. The other commenters are bona fide experts; they don’t need to read up on anything since they’re already professional-level themselves.

I know it’s hard to accept that you don’t have a $350000 coin, but listen to those who know better, and have been doing this for a lifetime.

Myself, unless it’s something I’m an actual expert in (vintage clarinets) I ALWAYS defer to more informed and educated opinions. It may not be what you want, but I think it’s better to live in reality than a YouTube fantasy where you can find thousands of dollars in errors in pocket change

 

Besides, your supposed overdate has zero relation whatsoever to an incorrect planchet. Those are VERY different errors fields and you should educate yourself on these possibilities
