This one just arrived from France via eBay. It's got a couple of rows of coupons attached to it. Included stamps from the envelope
Ordered this stock certificate months ago from an eBay vendor in France. Forget about it than out of the blue it's delivered. Not the highest quality but interesting subject matter.
I really like the ships on that one! And I missed the previous one you posted for the Eclipse film company. Those are both nice. I don't usually collect non-engraved certificates, but some of these French lithographs are tempting, particularly the art deco designs.
Thanks. I much prefer engraved certificates however the subject matter caught my attention. A few years ago, I bought an elaborate certificate from a Brugge city water project and was disappointed that it's a litho.
I added a few more to the collection last week, so guess I'll add a few here. The railroads are always popular. I really like the vignette of tracklayers on this last one.
Up front apologies for this particular post, it is a TRAIN, but it's from a Christmas card that reminds me of the time my younger brother and I used to stop and wave at the trains when they came rumbling through our little town. Sorry.
Considering time frame (late 40's/early 50's) I assume steam. We used to "browse" around the rail yard; "visiting" a caboose or two and even got brave and went up into a couple locomotives. We actually visited a roundhouse once but I don't remember where it was.
Wow, it's been a while since I've added to this thread and quite a few nice items have arrived in the meantime. Here are some I was glad to pick up. These are the railroads...
Thanks for reviving this thread. I haven’t collected bonds or paper money for over a year. I should probably get back to it. There’s no greater artwork than the old school engravers, that’s for sure.
This topic deserves a bump, so new members get a chance to see what else is out there besides paper money. Here are a few nice mining stocks I picked up recently.
