Considering how times are tough and numismatics is out of reach for more than before its always encouraging to see a piece on the market that is affordable for most collectors, while corroded there is a lot of meat and detail. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1793-Flowing-Hair-Wreath-Large-Cent-Penny-Corrosion-but-still-lots-of-Detail/233762991005?hash=item366d5c2b9d%3Ag%3A4R8AAOSwGb9fnDdQ&LH_All=1
There is so little left of this piece, it makes one wonder if it is genuine. If you don’t get this thing into a “genuine” holder, a lot of the resale market won’t touch it. if you are young, follow the rule I have had since I started out as a collector. If you can’t afford a decent example of a coin, forget about owning one. You will be much happier in the long run. If you are old, follow the same rule. With all of the Chinese products on the market today, you have to be very careful with damaged coins, even if they are in an NGC or PCGS slab.
I don't do details coins with the exception of near melt gold but admit I am a bit temped going with too bad a riks
This. I set a min grade of VF35 (VF30/CAC for scarce varieties) but won’t go below. There’s not a single “problem coin” in my collection and I don’t intend to buy one anytime soon.
This doesn’t make sense. Just make sure the link actually takes you to the correct domain - in this case eBay.com. You can also ask Google to check the content of the linked web site: https://transparencyreport.google.com/safe-browsing/search example: I entered the link to this thread - see screenshot below - and the tool tells you if there’s content which is potentially unsafe.
