I ran into a friend of mine last night who I have not seen in a month or so. He buys estates and he bought one yesterday. He asked me if I wanted to buy some proof sets. I normally only buy the silver proof sets, but what the heck. He sold me the following proof sets at face value:

    83 1 set

    84 2 sets

    85 2 sets

    86 2 sets

    87 2 sets

    88 1 set

    89 2 sets

    90 2 sets

    91 – 2013 1 set each

The face value of the coins came to $84.03 so at 37 proof sets that comes out to S2.27 a set. I believe that to be a great buy.

You did very well IMHO. That's below wholesale.

Even if they are impaired, you can’t lose when you get them for face value.

That's the good part, they are all in their OGP. Plus that is all the state quarters proofs and the Lincoln copper anniversary set. I have all the silver proofs for those years also (2 ea).

It's a small fraction of wholesale and a tiny fraction of the combined value of the coins.
