    Hello all,

a while back I had run into an auction and it being late and barely keeping my eyes open, besides the basic look and check if it’s legit and also it’s grade or around it I didn’t look more then that. I had a closer look at it today and I believe I lucked out! Orrrr maybe not see what you all say! I saw some issues with the date such as a re punch. I checked this error and I believe there are 2 known types and it matches EXACTLY to one of them! If this is the case it could be worth even more! It took me a while to find the L because this was my first one but with my loupe and also my full zoom I found it but there’s a few other dings. She’s not MS but dang she is nice! Does anyone know the rarity of the RPD variety of this variety? Or at least the rarity of the L version? I was unable to find this online.

    Thank you in advance!

Even if you can't see the "L" you can still determine it by the shape of the bottom front of the bust. Without L is rounded and with L is pointed. See just above the 1 in the date.

Wow what deal! His pictures were fairly dark so I don’t know if anyone caught it

No it’s not a listing yet but will be! And it does have 9 bids on it but I’m not sure of anyone’s C.T name on eBay but no ones said anything

That will be good to know for the future when I find a worn one!

LOL we’ll see! I’m also listing an uncirculated ‘64 L on the ribbon that I believe to be red in color that I can post pictures of for this weekend so I will have some options to choose from!

The doubled date on the 1864-L Cent has been a known variety for a long time. I had one when I was in high school in the mid 1960s. It had EF sharpness but was uniformly green from corrosion.
